POCO CIELO is Italian for “little heaven” which is exactly what this blog is to me. I have always had an interest for all things Italy. The architecture, the culture, the language, the FOOD. I’ve actually also started using an app to learn Italian – we’ll see how that goes. It just seems like a beautiful paradise or heaven – hence the title I chose for this blog. Additionally, cooking/baking and just food in general has always been a passion of mine and it is an escape from the monotony that can permeate life sometimes. It is amazing how one can take a few ingredients and turn them into something magnificent and delicious with just a little TLC.

I AM an auditor by day in D.C. and I’ve been looking for something that I am passionate about to invest time in. However, I don’t usually get to cook all that much since I’ve been living by myself. That is all about to change with my soon-to-be-roommate next month. Having two people to cook for and being closer to friends will give me the opportunity to try out some recipes and learn more about the culinary world. My first challenge or goal is to cook every recipe in Ina Garten’s Back to Basics cookbook. I’m hoping to get confident enough to start producing my own recipes in the near future.
